Test
Of English
as a Foreign
Language
|
What our students say
When I began the selection of
a business school for my MBA, I realized that I would need serious help to
reach the required score (250/260); the intensive course of 30 hours divided
into 6 sessions helped me to achieve a score of 293 (Listening: 28;
Structure: 30; Reading: 30).
The course is structured in a
clear and efficient manner; the students, who are encouraged to participate
during the lessons, have a way to continually measure their progress by
going through numerous exercises; the teacher, diligent and very helpful, is
able to emphasize all the important aspects of the language in order to
improve one’s score.
Before the course, I was quite
worried about the Writing section, which is included in the final results,
and worth up to 60 points. But using the techniques learned during the
lesson and with a little practice at home, my results were quickly improved:
my score on the test was 6.0.
I am convinced that I invested
my money in the best way. When you consider the high cost of taking the test
(especially since many students repeat the exam 2 or 3 times), the days of
work or study lost to take the exam, the preparation books, etc., I believe
I did well trusting in a serious institution, rather than improvising a
do-it-yourself preparation.

The TOEFL® is a standardized test designed to
measure the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand
English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university
settings. The Next Generation Internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) is
the only version administered in Italy. |
What is on the
TOEFL iBT?
The Internet-based TOEFL tests all four language skills that are important
for effective communication: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The test
helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success.

How is the test scored, and what score do I need?
TOEFL iBT scores are reported on a scale of 0 to 120. Every school sets its own
minimum. To study in a school where the instruction is in English, students will
often be required to reach a score of 80. For top-ranked
schools, however, the minimum may be as high as 105.
Is the test hard?
The test is not especially hard if you are completely fluent in English. But
if your English is less than perfect, you can learn to get the score you need
with expert guidance and focused practice.
How does the EAS preparation course work?
The TOEFL course is 30 hours of instruction, available on several different
schedules. You can come to class two afternoons or two evenings a week for six weeks. Or you can
come six consecutive Saturdays. Or, if you want to get the whole course in just
three weeks, you can come afternoons or evenings and Saturdays. Click on the link below to
